Uses of Intas Neomec Tablets in Pets
Vets prescribe ivermectin tablets for dogs for:
Sarcoptic mange (scabies): intense itching, crusty ears and elbows. Read more on scabies in dogs.
Demodectic mange: patchy hair loss, red or scaly skin. See our medicines for mange in dogs.
Ear mites: dark, dry debris in the ear and head shaking.
Certain intestinal parasites and microfilariae: only when your vet chooses it for that case.
Is Neomec a dewormer? Can it be used for ticks?
Partly. Ivermectin works on several roundworms and mites, so vets do use it in some parasite cases. It is not a routine puppy dewormer, and it does not prevent ticks or fleas. For regular worming, see the dog dewormer collection. For tick and flea cover, see tick and flea tablets.

How to Give Intas Neomec Ivermectin Tablets to Your Pet
Neomec tablet dosage for dogs depends on your dog’s weight and the condition being treated. Mange doses are different from other uses. Never self-dose. Our vet confirms the dose on your consultation call.

Giving the tablet: give with a little food. If your dog spits it out, hide it in a small treat or a piece of cheese. Do not crush it unless your vet says so.
Course length: mange usually needs repeat doses over several weeks. Your vet sets the schedule. Skin often improves over 2 to 4 weeks, but severe cases take longer.
If your dog vomits within an hour: do not repeat the dose yourself. Note the time and call your vet.
Other medicines: tell your vet about every medicine, tick and flea product and supplement your dog takes. Some combinations, such as spinosad-based flea products, can raise the risk of side effects.
What Should You Do If You Miss a Dose?
Do not give a double dose.
If you remember soon after the missed time, give it and carry on as planned.
If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one.
Not sure? Call your vet before the next dose, because a late dose can change the repeat schedule.
How This Medicine Works
Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic from the avermectin family. It disrupts nerve and muscle function in susceptible parasites, which paralyses and kills them. It does not cover tapeworms, and it is not a tick or flea preventive.
Please check the strength before ordering. This listing is Neomec 10mg tablets. Neomec MD is a different 1mg product.
Side Effects in Pets
Mild and usually short-lived: drooling, vomiting, loose stools, tiredness, less appetite.
Call your vet the same day for: wobbling, tremors, dilated pupils, disorientation, seizures, extreme sleepiness or blindness. These are signs of ivermectin toxicity.
If you suspect an overdose: do not wait for signs. Note how many tablets were taken, call your vet or an emergency vet line, and carry the strip with you.
Safety Advice
MDR1 breeds (Collie, Shetland Sheepdog, Australian Shepherd and related herding breeds and crosses) can react badly to ivermectin. Ask your vet about MDR1 testing before use.
Puppies: not for puppies under 6 weeks of age. Dogs under 10 kg, including most puppies, should only be given Neomec at a dose set by the vet, because the tablet can’t be split accurately for small bodies. Share your puppy’s age and weight on the consultation call.
Pregnant or nursing dogs, and dogs with liver disease: only on veterinary advice.
Cats: Neomec tablets are not for cats at dog doses. Cats need a different product and dose chosen by a vet.
Humans: for animal use only. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage: keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity. In monsoon, store strips in an airtight dry box.

Neomec Alternatives for Dogs
Your vet may suggest another option based on the problem. For ticks and fleas, vets often use isoxazoline tablets such as Bravecto (fluralaner), see the Bravecto tablet collection. It is not a mange replacement unless your vet says so, and it needs caution in dogs with a seizure history.
When to Contact a Veterinarian
Call your vet right away if you see tremors, stumbling, seizures, continued vomiting, a swollen face or hives, or if your dog has swallowed more than the prescribed dose. Also call if the itching has not improved after the first few weeks.

FAQs
Can I order Neomec tablets online in India?
Yes, you can order Neomec tablets online from Supertails. Neomec is a Schedule H prescription medicine, so you can upload a valid prescription. If you don’t have one, a Supertails vet calls you within 10 minutes of order confirmation to review your dog’s case and verify the order before dispatch.
What does Neomec treat in dogs?
Neomec contains ivermectin and is prescribed mainly for sarcoptic and demodectic mange, ear mites and lice, and sometimes certain intestinal worms. It works by paralysing and killing the parasites so the skin can heal. It is not a routine dewormer or tick preventive, and should be used only when your vet prescribes it.
What is the Neomec tablet dosage for dogs per kg?
Neomec dosage depends on your dog’s weight, breed and the condition being treated, and the gap between a safe and a harmful dose is narrow. Your vet calculates the exact per-kg dose, frequency and course length. Never estimate the dose or copy one from another dog, as overdose can be dangerous.
Can I give Neomec to cats?
No, not at dog doses. Cats are sensitive to ivermectin, and a wrong dose can cause serious harm. Never give your dog’s Neomec tablet to a cat. If your cat has mites or other parasites, consult a vet, who can prescribe a cat-specific, safe treatment at the correct dose.
Can I give Neomec with other medicines?
Some medicines can be given alongside Neomec, but certain drugs interact with ivermectin and raise the risk of side effects. Before starting, tell your vet about every medicine, supplement and tick or flea product your dog takes. Don’t combine anything without your vet’s approval.
What if my dog vomits after the Neomec tablet?
Do not give a second tablet to make up for it, as an extra dose of ivermectin can be harmful. Note when you gave the tablet and when your dog vomited, then call your vet for advice. If you see wobbliness, tremors or drooling, seek urgent veterinary care.
How much does Neomec cost?
The Neomec tablet price depends on pack size. It comes in 1 strip (10 tablets), 2 strips (20 tablets) and 4 strips (40 tablets), and the 4-strip pack typically works out cheapest per tablet. Check the live price in the variant selector, as prices and offers change. Prescription verification applies to every order.
