Description
If your tank is home to a Plecostomus or a handful of dedicated algae eaters, this 2.89 oz size of Hikari USA Algae Wafers hits a comfortable middle ground. Hikari formulated this rapidly sinking wafer specifically for the hard-to-feed Plecostomus, and it is excellent for all algae eaters you might keep. The 2.89 oz amount is enough to settle into a regular feeding routine without sitting around half-used for too long. Why this 2.89 oz size earns a spot in your fish cabinet: Made specifically for the hard-to-feed Plecostomus, so your pleco gets a wafer matched to its grazing nature. Excellent for all algae eaters, giving you one dependable food for a varied bottom-feeding crew. Rich in the high levels of vegetable matter that algae eaters prefer and love. Vegetable and protein content is balanced to support proper health and growth, according to Hikari. The unique disc shape sinks rapidly, taking the meal straight down to where your grazers gather. Each wafer retains its shape as it sinks, so less aggressive species can feed at their leisure. The wafer holds together instead of dissolving, which helps keep your aquarium water from clouding. Also great for saltwater fish and other marine herbivores, so it fits a range of tanks. Made with familiar ingredients including fish meal, dehydrated alfalfa meal, dried seaweed meal, krill meal and spirulina. The mid-range 2.89 oz size suits a single pleco or a small group of algae eaters fed regularly. This is the size for the keeper who wants enough to settle into a rhythm without overbuying. Drop a wafer in, watch it sink fast and keep its disc shape, and let your plecos and grazers take their time. With the 2.89 oz size of Hikari Algae Wafers on the shelf, your vegetable-loving fish always have the bottom-feeding meal they prefer ready to go.
