This unique design allows water to travel through each compartment separately enabling efficient nutrient removal via protein skimming, while having a completely separate refugium flow channel that allows the use of addition Biological Filtration; such as,(BIO-LUX & macro-algae’s) to aid in the removal of unwanted nutrients (nitrates & phosphates), from your Aquarium.
