Material and Construction
The GroomBug is constructed from PetKORE’s proprietary natural rubber formula, selected for its flexibility and gentle contact properties. The rubber material allows the tool to flex and conform to the dog’s anatomy during use, reducing pressure points and improving grooming comfort. The conical finger array is integrated into the grooming surface to provide coat penetration without sharp edges. The reverse side of the tool features a flat squeegee surface for post-bath water removal. The ergonomic grip platform is designed for stable, one-handed use. The large size provides a wider grooming surface area suited for medium to large dog breeds. Overall construction is moderate duty, suitable for regular home grooming sessions.
Usage, Application, and Frequency Guidance
For dry grooming, hold the GroomBug by the ergonomic grip and stroke through the dog’s coat in the direction of hair growth. The conical fingers will collect loose hair and stimulate the skin and coat. For shampooing, apply shampoo to the coat and use the GroomBug to work it through the fur. After rinsing, flip the tool over and use the flat top surface as a squeegee to remove excess water from the coat. Use regularly as part of a routine grooming schedule to maintain coat health and reduce shedding. Frequency can be adjusted based on coat type, dog size, and shedding level.
Functional Use – Grooming Accessory
The GroomBug functions as a multi-purpose grooming accessory combining loose hair removal, coat and skin stimulation, shampooing support, and post-bath water removal in a single tool. The conical finger design allows it to work through the outer coat to reach the undercoat layer, collecting loose hair while promoting circulation. The dual-surface design – grooming fingers on one side and a squeegee surface on the other – makes it a versatile addition to a dog grooming routine without requiring multiple separate tools. The large size is particularly effective for covering more surface area per stroke on larger dogs.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Use with gentle, controlled strokes – avoid applying excessive pressure to the skin
Inspect the rubber fingers before each use; discontinue use if the material shows signs of cracking or deterioration
Avoid use on broken, irritated, or inflamed skin
Supervise grooming sessions to ensure the dog remains comfortable throughout
Store in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight to preserve rubber integrity
Cleaning and Maintenance
Remove collected hair from the conical fingers after each grooming session. Rinse the tool under water to clean both the grooming surface and the squeegee side. Allow to dry fully before storing. Inspect the rubber material periodically for signs of wear or degradation. Store away from prolonged sun exposure or heat sources to maintain the natural rubber formula’s flexibility and performance.
