Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I use the Chihiros Magnet Cleaner on an acrylic aquarium?
No. This magnetic cleaner is designed strictly for glass aquariums ONLY. Using high-powered N52 magnets on acrylic panels will scratch or scuff the acrylic surface. For acrylic tanks, use soft felt pads or plastic blade scrapers.
2. How do I avoid scratching my glass when using a magnetic cleaner near the substrate?
Always keep the magnet at least 1 inch above your aquasoil or sand bed. If a grain of sand gets caught under the felt pad, slide the magnet straight off the glass, rinse the pad thoroughly, and re-attach it above the substrate line.
3. Which size should I choose for my tank (Mini vs. Nano)?
The Mini (1.1″ round) is ideal for tiny nano tanks and ultra-tight corners around hardscape. The Nano (1.57″ × 0.79″ rectangular) provides broader surface coverage for standard desktop and rimless glass displays up to 8mm thick.
