Material and Construction
The Thunda Tugga Gorilla is constructed from a plush exterior with corduroy accent panels and an internal K9 Tuff Guard lining. The K9 Tuff Guard layer reinforces the seams and body of the toy, providing added resistance to tearing compared to standard plush construction. The squeaker mechanism is positioned to activate with arm-pulling motion, delivering rapid sequential squeaks during tug play. Durability is positioned at moderate duty — this toy is reinforced but is not intended for aggressive chewers.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The plush and corduroy exterior is soft to the touch with a slightly textured feel from the corduroy panels. At 5 in x 13 in x 15 in, the toy is sized for medium to large breed dogs that can grip and carry the body while pulling the arms. Engagement duration is typically moderate to extended during interactive tug sessions. Independent play with squeaking and chewing may also occur, though supervision is recommended at all times.
Play Style and Functional Use
This is a tug toy with integrated squeak and chew functionality. The extended gorilla arms serve as natural tug handles for owner-dog interaction. Pulling the arms activates the rapid squeak mechanism, reinforcing tug behavior with sound. Dogs can also carry, mouth, and chew the toy between tug sessions. The plush body provides comfort play appeal for dogs that enjoy soft toy interaction.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
High supervision is required during all play sessions. Inspect the toy regularly for torn seams, exposed stuffing, or squeaker access. Remove the toy immediately if the K9 Tuff Guard lining is breached or stuffing becomes accessible. This toy is not recommended for aggressive chewers. Ensure the toy size is appropriate for your dog before play. Store in a clean, dry location when not in use.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Spot clean the plush and corduroy exterior with a damp cloth to remove surface dirt. Check the manufacturer label before machine washing, as heat and agitation may affect the K9 Tuff Guard lining and squeaker mechanism. Allow the toy to air dry fully before returning it to play. Avoid high-heat drying methods that may damage the plush materials or internal components.
