Material and Construction
The Scruffles Lamb Small is constructed from a soft plush fabric exterior with a proprietary K9 Tuff Guard lining sewn into the interior. This reinforced lining is designed to resist tearing from the inside out, providing a secondary barrier between the outer fabric and any internal stuffing. The exterior features a deliberately scruffy, textured finish in black and white that adds tactile interest during carry and comfort play. Construction is seam-stitched throughout, with the K9 Tuff Guard layer acting as the primary durability upgrade over standard plush dog toys. This is a light duty toy, not intended for aggressive chewing or power-chewer breeds.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The exterior is soft and slightly textured, giving it the signature scruffy feel of the Scruffles line. At just 0.18 lbs, the small size is exceptionally lightweight and easy for small dogs to carry, toss, and cuddle throughout the day. Play duration will vary based on individual dog behavior; dogs focused on comfort and companionship will enjoy extended sessions, while dogs with stronger chewing tendencies may reduce the toy’s lifespan more quickly. Short to moderate supervised play sessions are recommended to preserve the toy’s integrity over time.
Play Style and Functional Use
As a plush comfort toy, the Scruffles Lamb is optimized for cuddling, carrying, and light interactive play. It is not designed for aggressive fetch, power tug, or destruction-style chewing. Small dogs that enjoy having a soft companion during rest, calm play, or travel will find this toy most rewarding. The scruffy texture and lamb character shape provide enough novelty to hold a small dog’s attention during light engagement without overstimulating. Supervision is recommended during all play sessions, particularly for dogs that tend to chew or disassemble plush toys.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
High supervision is recommended during all play sessions with this plush dog toy. Inspect the toy regularly for signs of seam separation, fabric tearing, or stuffing exposure. If the K9 Tuff Guard lining becomes compromised or stuffing is accessible, discontinue use immediately and replace the toy. Ensure the small size is appropriate for your specific dog’s breed and chewing behavior. Store in a clean, dry location when not in use to maintain fabric quality and hygiene.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Surface clean with a damp cloth for routine maintenance. Check the manufacturer label for specific washing instructions before machine washing. Avoid high-heat drying methods, as heat can damage the plush fabric and internal K9 Tuff Guard lining. Inspect seams and lining integrity during each cleaning to ensure the toy remains safe for continued use.
