Remarks: Red Eye Tetras are a robust species of tetra that can handle being kept with large, South American cichlids like Geophagus, Severums, and Satanoperca.
The scientific name for the red eye tetra used to be Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae. However, it was reclassified as Bario sanctaefilomenae after the completion of an intensive phylogenic study on species in the family Characidae.
